Built for Detailed Product Information

A manufacturing catalog may combine product photography, model numbers, dimensions, compatibility information, charts and ordering details. We plan the format around page count, expected handling, revision frequency and distribution—not around a one-size-fits-all specification.

  • Product and equipment catalogs
  • Parts and accessories guides
  • Dealer and distributor catalogs
  • Technical reference books
  • Trade-show and sales-team materials

Production Decisions That Matter

Saddle stitching may fit slimmer promotional catalogs. PUR perfect binding can provide a square spine for thicker publications. Wire-O binding can help a guide remain open on a desk or workbench. Paper, coating and finishing should support legibility, image quality, durability and mailing weight.

Before production, provide the finished size, page count, quantity, versions, binding, paper, color requirements, mailing or shipping plan and target date. Catalog Kings can also discuss photography, design and image-preparation support.

Manufacturer Catalog Printing FAQ

Can several product families share one catalog?

Yes. Consistent section navigation, product-data formatting and indexes can help users find the correct item.

Can different dealers receive different versions?

Versioning may be possible. Include the number of versions, quantities and changed pages when requesting pricing.

Can catalogs be mailed or shipped in batches?

Yes. Distribution requirements should be planned with printing so packaging, addressing, postage and delivery timing are considered early.

Planning Catalog Printing for Manufacturers

Start with the job the catalog must do. A dealer sales book needs clear categories and ordering details. A parts reference needs stable identifiers, readable diagrams and a reliable index. A launch catalog may need a smaller selection of products, larger photographs and room for application examples. Identify the reader and the expected shelf life before choosing the format.

Keep product information consistent

Build one approved source for model numbers, descriptions, dimensions and options. Decide who is responsible for checking specifications and who gives final approval. Mark discontinued products and replacement parts before page layout begins. This reduces conflicting information between the printed catalog, dealer materials and your website.

Ask the people who use the catalog to review a sample spread. Check whether small labels, tables and dimension drawings remain readable at the actual printed size. Leave enough space near the binding so essential details do not disappear into the gutter. If color identifies product families or compatibility, include a written label as well.

Plan updates, versions and delivery

Separate information that changes frequently from content intended to last. A dated price insert or a clearly labeled link to current specifications may be easier to maintain than replacing an entire reference book. Test every QR code using the final printed dimensions, and keep the destination under your control.

For dealer editions, prepare a version list showing the common pages, changed pages, quantities and delivery addresses. Request pricing against that list so packaging and separate shipments are included. If a trade show determines the deadline, work backward from the date catalogs must arrive, allowing time for file corrections and proof approval.

Check the proof before production

Review page order, cross-references, contact information and product data separately from color and finishing decisions. Nominate one person to consolidate corrections. Our print-ready file preparation guide and catalog binding guide explain the production questions to resolve before approving a manufacturing catalog.
